Following on from three successful Melbourne shows and their Sydney debut last year, the award winning Dog Lovers Show returns for the second time at the Royal Hall of Industries and Hordern Pavilion in Moore Park, Sydney on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August.

From canines that have gone above and beyond to keep our country safe to dozens of dogs available for adoption from rescue groups across NSW, these are just some of the highlights dog loving visitors would be barking mad to miss:
Following its inaugural success at last year’s Sydney show, visitors will again have the opportunity to interact with a wide range of beautiful breeds in the Pat-A-Pooch zone. Dog owners and qualified handlers will be available at all times to provide reliable information on what it’s like to live with each pooch, whilst visitors have some quality canine cuddle time.
The CANIDAE Rescue Dog Zone provides a chance to meet dogs from a wide array of shelters and rescue groups from around NSW who are desperate to find safe, loving homes. Visitors will also have access to experts who can discuss rescue and what’s really involved, whether it suits your lifestyle and how you can actually start the process of adoption if you fall in love with the perfect pooch.
The Rose-Hip Vital Arena will be bursting with high energy and endless action as some of Australia’s most talented canines, including Dr Katrina Warren’s Wonderdogs, present live doggy demonstrations including Agility, Flygility, Flyball, and Frisbee shows. An Explosive Detective Dog (EDD) demo will also be presented by the Australian Defence Force simulating a mockcheck point in a war scenario. Qantas Welcome Aboard program co-host, David Whitehill will introduce all the action as the arena’s new daily MC.
From dapper Dachshunds to snuggly Samoyeds, the Royal Canin Breed Showcase will give visitors the opportunity to compare and cuddle over 30 of Australia’s most lovable and popular breeds from puppy to adult dogs. Reputable DOGS NSW Breed Clubs will be on hand to ensure visitors considering a new canine addition are equipped with all the right information to make informed decisions.
To acknowledge the 100th Centenary anniversary of WW1 and the ANZAC, a special tribute to Australian Military Working Dogs with be presented at the show. It will showcase the contribution Australian dogs have made in war throughout the decades through various educational elements, including profiles on some of Australia’s most decorated and famous military dogs. President of the Australian War Animal Memorial Organisation, Queensland Police dog handler and war veteran, Nigel Allsopp will also present a history of our four-legged diggers on both days, with Cpl Mark Donaldson VC presenting on the Sunday.
The KONG Celebrity Vet Stage will provide expert seminars for a healthier, happier dog from some of Australia’s most popular vets. Topics cover training and behaviour tips, first-aid and nutrition advice with everything you need to know about living with a new puppy! Speakers include James and Anthony from Village Vets Australia on Foxtel’s The LifeStyle Channel, Bondi Vet Dr Lisa Chimes, Laura Vissaritis and Dr Katrina Warren.
