Week Two: Paws Up!
Even Bonnie is getting in on the action now!
Since you guys asked for it, I’ll now detail how to teach each trick. This is a precursor trick to Horsey from week one, so I thought I’d break it down.
You want to start off with something that’s not too high, like a pivot box (which Bonnie is on) or a phone book.
Have your dog standing in front of the object you want them to put their paws on, and have a piece of food just out of their reach in front of them (in your hand). If the dog moves one of their front legs, reward, if they get it on the object, even bigger reward!
As you move the treat just out of their reach they will naturally want to move towards it, but the scary box is in the way! So it may take them a little time to learn. Once they are comfortable getting up there, add the command of “Paws up” and reward for longer time spent in that position. Then you can try it on different objects, like a chair… before moving on to yourself!
We’d love to see some photos of your dogs showing us their Paws Up skills!
I’m gonna try and work on at least the basics one trick each week for the dogs this year.
Week One: Horsey!
Sprocket took to this one pretty quickly, Cynder wasn’t sure at first but got there in the end. There are plenty of scratches down my back now…
So we’ve talked about the LG Cordzero 2-in-1 Handstick Vacuum quite recently, and I’ve given you my thoughts on it… But let’s not make this all about me! I’d like to introduce you a few of the other CordZero Heroes and find out what they thought about theirs!

LG Model: LG Cordzero C5 Cannister
Thoughts: Vacuuming was a dreaded chore simply because of the effort of plugging it in, doing an area, plugging in somewhere else etc. but the CordZero takes away that extra effort and makes quick spot cleans so easy. Plus no cords to trip over the toddler or get tangled around the furniture. It’s also great on cleaning up pet mess… Fur, kitty litter. We love it!

LG Model: LG CordZero Canister C3
Thoughts: I like that being cordless, the vacuum eradicates the need for “plug, vacuum, unplug” on repeat. It is convenient to lug around the house and lighter than I had expected given the technology and the features it promises. It is portable so it can go where no other vacuum has gone to – like the porch, deck and so on. It is compact and comes with a “storage mode/slot” which saves a bit of space when not in use! Definitely a winner in our home!

LG Model: CordZero 2-in-1 Handstick.
Thoughts: We love how easy it is just to grab the CordZero off its base and start using it. No need to plug in, just grab and go. And it was super powerful! Great for cleaning up after mealtimes and craft explosions. I also love that the CordZero Handstick is so easy (and fun!) to use that my kids have been fighting over who gets to clean up.

Moving house is incredibly stressful, they say it’s 1 of the top 5 stressful life events that a person goes through. Now imagine for a moment that you’re moving with 9 dogs (3 adults and 6 two and a half week old puppies), a cat, a ferret, a rabbit, a mouse and a frog! Think of all that pet hair left behind after you’ve lived in a property for around 3 years! What were we thinking? What were we going to do!?
Thankfully we recently got our hands on the LG CordZero™ 2-in-1 Handstick Vacuum, thanks to LG and Social Soup, so we were a little more prepared for the task at hand. It took a number of trips with the moving van, 3 cars and a lot of manpower but we got everyone to the new house safe and sound, but of course it was then time for the dreaded clean up!
Whilst we hired professional cleaners to do the most part, I did some quick spot cleaning to test out the CordZero on the carpeted floors at the old house, before moving to the new house and hardwood floors.
So how does the LG CordZero stack up?
There are a few things that I absolutely love about the CordZero:
- Moving around the house is a breeze thanks to the dual battery packs meaning you don’t have a cord to accidentally pull out of the wall (I’ve done this SO many times)
- The front LED lights make it easier to see the mess just in front of the vacuum
- With so much pet hair around the anti-tangle brush is a real life-saver! It really lives up to it’s claims and so far, no tangles!
- It’s really lightweight and maneuvers well, turns corners and goes under couches, tables, etc. really easily.
- Easily works on different floor types and the quick release hand-held is great for getting those harder to reach spots and corners.
- You can easily tell how much battery power you have left and switch batteries over if you need to
- Doesn’t overheat like our last vacuum (true story, our last vacuum actually melted it’s own plastic!)
As an upright and hand-held it’s great for spot cleaning smaller areas. The collection canister is only small and so I found myself needing to empty it after only a couple of minutes vacuuming due to the amount of pet hair around!
The Verdict: The LG CordZero™ 2-in-1 Handstick Vacuum is a great vacuum to have around the home for smaller messes and spot cleaning. It’s lightweight and easy to use and would work well in conjunction with a bigger vacuum to cover the whole house. Being able to take the vacuum around the whole house without needing to continuously plug cords in is also a real plus.
The LG CordZero was provided by Social Soup for review purposes, this has in no way influenced our thoughts on this product.
